The movie "Equal" tells story of Silas who lives in the future, in the society called "Collective". Inhabitants of this modern world — the new generation of people called "Equal". Equal are peace, quiet, polite and fair people, and life in "Collective" is ideal. In it there is neither poverty, nor greed, nor violence, nor emotions … But over society the new threat hangs: a disease of "SOS" or "the Syndrome of Public Consciousness" which victims are exposed to everything what as they thought, avoided: depression, vulnerability, fear, love. If the government finds the person infected with "SOS" it at once will take away in Nora then any more nobody ever will see this person.
When the main character finds out that he is infected too, he becomes a derelict, but notices one person who as it seems to it, understands what it should pass through. At this time the government states that disease medicine of "the included emotions" was found, and the main characters are forced to look for a way to survive.
